In Memory of Michael Jackson

One post cannot explain how The King of Pop is woven throughout my entire life. Here are a couple memories I will share with you.

In junior high I briefly belonged to a group especially for young jewish women. I can't even remember what is was called...that's how in to it I was. During one of the meetings, the group leader (Stephanie Rosenblat) played "Man In The Mirror" in an attempt to inspire us. Check out this awesome live version of the song.

My bestest girlfriends and I performed "The Love You Save" for a talent show our senior year of high school. We practiced for months. We even purchased 70s clothes from the DI, had afros, and painted our faces and hands black. Which we got in huge trouble for...we had no idea we were being racist. Ignorance is bliss! We were head over heels in love with The Jackson 5.

In more recent years, my sisters and I have been making a habit out of dancing to Michael Jackson in my livingroom. Some times we get so hot we have to strip down and continue dancing. : ) Here are a couple of our favorites to dance to.

It is the end of an era...

Thank you, MJ, for bringing so much to this world! Your music will be played in my car, in my house, on my iPod until I die!!

  1. It's so hard for those of us that grew up with him. Of course he's a part of our lives. I love his music. With all of the controversy I have to admit I can't even think of his name anymore without cringing... which has ruined a lot of his music for me too. Which is too bad because it's sooooo good!
