In Memory of Michael Jackson

One post cannot explain how The King of Pop is woven throughout my entire life. Here are a couple memories I will share with you.

In junior high I briefly belonged to a group especially for young jewish women. I can't even remember what is was called...that's how in to it I was. During one of the meetings, the group leader (Stephanie Rosenblat) played "Man In The Mirror" in an attempt to inspire us. Check out this awesome live version of the song.

My bestest girlfriends and I performed "The Love You Save" for a talent show our senior year of high school. We practiced for months. We even purchased 70s clothes from the DI, had afros, and painted our faces and hands black. Which we got in huge trouble for...we had no idea we were being racist. Ignorance is bliss! We were head over heels in love with The Jackson 5.

In more recent years, my sisters and I have been making a habit out of dancing to Michael Jackson in my livingroom. Some times we get so hot we have to strip down and continue dancing. : ) Here are a couple of our favorites to dance to.

It is the end of an era...

Thank you, MJ, for bringing so much to this world! Your music will be played in my car, in my house, on my iPod until I die!!

Feeling Inspired

Today I am feeling inspired by my amazing friend Mistress Auri. I have been following her blog for a while now and am loving how her blog helps me stay connected to her and her life in an all new way. I'm loving it so much that I've decided to try my hand at my own blog.

I have used a blog for less entertaining, more practical purposes...coordinating our family cabin rebuild and updates. So I'm super excited to utilize a blog in a whole new way.

Given that it's taken me way too long to just pick out a name, upload a picture, and decide on a cute background...I think I'll call this my official first post and call it a day.
